Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Lexum collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Lexum website and the Lexum mobile application (together, the “Service”).
1) Website (lexum.app)
The landing website does not require an account. We collect personal data only when you submit it (for example, when joining the waitlist). We also use analytics to understand how the website is used.
What we collect on the website
- Beta waitlist form: email address, the language you are learning (optional, stored both as you typed it and as standard language codes), and platform preference
- Signup context: the page you signed up from, the referring page, your browser user agent, the site language, and campaign parameters (utm_*) if the link you arrived through carried them
- Beta status: when you confirmed your email, when we last sent you a confirmation email, your position in the Founding Users queue, when you were invited, and whether you have unsubscribed
- Website analytics: page views and basic technical data (browser, device type, IP-derived approximate location)
- Performance: aggregated performance metrics (e.g. page speed)
Beta waitlist emails
Joining the beta is double opt-in: we email you a confirmation link, and we only send further emails — beta invites and product updates — once you click it. If you never confirm, the address stays unused and is deleted with the rest of the waitlist data.
Every one of these emails carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Submitting the form again counts as a fresh opt-in and re-subscribes the address.
Founding Users
If you are one of the first 50 people to confirm, we transfer your confirmed email address and your Founding number from the waitlist to the Lexum application backend. That is the only way the app can recognise you and grant the benefits described on our Founding Users page. The address is used there solely to match you to your Founding place when you sign in.
Cookies & consent
Google Analytics is loaded only after you press “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you press “Reject”, we do not load Google Analytics and no analytics cookies are set. You can revisit your choice via the Cookies link in the footer.
Independently of that choice, the website uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights. These are cookieless: they record aggregated page views and loading performance, set no cookies, and do not build a profile of you or identify you across sites.
2) Mobile application
The Lexum mobile application is designed to help users translate, save, and practice vocabulary. When you use the app, we process additional information necessary to provide the service.
Information we collect in the app
- Account information: email address and authentication identifiers
- Learning data: saved words, vocabulary lists, and learning progress
- Usage data: feature usage and interaction events (to improve the product)
- Device information: device model, operating system, app version, language/region settings
- Notifications: push notification token (if you enable reminders)
- Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data to keep the app stable
How we use the data
- Provide translation and vocabulary learning features
- Save learning progress and synchronize across devices
- Send learning reminders and notifications (if enabled)
- Improve product experience and reliability
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
Third-party services
Lexum relies on trusted infrastructure providers to operate the Service. These services may process limited data required to provide their functionality.
- Supabase — authentication and database
- PostHog — product analytics
- Sentry — crash and error reporting
- DeepL — translation processing
- Anthropic — AI language processing
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Resend — sending transactional email (waitlist confirmations, beta invites, replies to your messages)
- Cloudflare — email routing for our support addresses
- Google Analytics — website analytics (only after consent)
- Vercel — website hosting and performance insights
Security
All communication with the Service is encrypted via HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access or misuse.
Data retention
We keep data only as long as necessary to provide the Service:
- Waitlist data: until launch and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you request deletion
- App data: while your account is active, and as needed for backups, security, and legal obligations
- Analytics/diagnostics: according to the settings of the respective providers
Account deletion
You can delete your Lexum account and associated data yourself: in the app, open Settings → Delete account. If you cannot access the app, request deletion from our account deletion page, or contact us and we will handle it.
To be removed from the beta waitlist specifically, use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails — that stops all sends. Ask us if you also want the waitlist record itself erased.
Children
Lexum is intended for general audiences and is not specifically directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights (EU/EEA)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and you may object to processing in certain cases. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
